Jenni Toivonen

Photographer

Jenni Toivonen (b. 1993) is a visual artist working in the extended field of photography. Her work deals with the interconnectedness, ecology and transience of life, often explored through the materiality of the body and the earth. Toivonen uses embodied methods to build reciprocity and strengthen her connection to the earth and other forms of life. Toivonen graduated from Aalto University’s Master of Fine Arts in Photography in 2022 and her work has been exhibited in Finland, including at Valokuvakeskus Nykyaika and Galleria Rajatila in Tampere, and internationally, including the Copenhagen Photo Festival in Denmark, the Circulation(s) exhibition in Paris and the Encontros da Imagem festival in Portugal. Toivonen has also been selected as one of the recipients of the FUTURES Nordic Talent 2024 award.
