Erich Berger is a Helsinki-based artist, curator and researcher. He focuses on the intersections of art, science and technology, critically examining how they are changing society and the world. His work explores the materiality of knowledge and information and technology as material for art. Berger’s interest in deep time and hybrid ecology has led his to work on contemporary geological processes, radiogenic phenomena and their socio-political implications. Berger’s work lies between the visual arts and science. As a doctoral researcher in anthropology at the University of Oulu, he conducts interdisciplinary research on how artists approach temporalities beyond human-centred time.
