Catharina Kajander

Ceramic artist

Catharina Kajander (b. 1945) has worked as a freelance artist since 1968. Kajander makes visual art using ceramic methods and has studied traditional pottery and the use of Finnish red clay. The themes of her works are autobiographical as well as social and feminist statements. Catharina Kajander was awarded the State Prize for the Arts in 1969. In 2007, Kajander was awarded an artist’s pension.
