Antti Salokannel (b. 1950, Lahti, Finland) is a printmaker best known for his mezzotint prints. Salokantel’s prints have been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions and his work has been acquired by the Ateneum Art Museum Collection, the Sara Hildèn Collection, the collections of the Aine and the Wihuri Foundation, and abroad, including the Albertina Collection in Vienna, the Museum Bojmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam, the National Museet in Oslo and numerous cities at home and abroad.
In addition to his work as a visual artist, he has been a lecturer in graphic design at the Academy of Fine Arts, Rector of the Lahti Art Institute and Senior Lecturer at the Lahti University of Applied Sciences, Institute of Design and Art. His career as an artist has also included numerous positions of trust in artists’ organisations, state art administration and education.
