“I am Anja Reponen, illustrator, visual designer and art director. I work on a wide variety of assignments. I mainly illustrate from observation, but I am also inspired by more conceptual projects. I specialise in portraiture. I approach new work by discussing and learning about the client’s values, needs and the context of the work. I like to combine the content of the work with my style so that the end result is as purposeful, attractive, effective and recognisable as possible. As a collaborator, I am approachable, flexible and nice, and I have never missed a deadline. My background is as a book graphic designer. I am inspired by stories, engaging content and strong emotions. Responsibility is also important. I have a tendency to inject humour into illustrations where it fits.
