Kuvasto ry is a copyright organisation founded in 1987 on the initiative of artists, which promotes the copyright of visual artists and the conditions for making art.
Kuvasto’s work for visual artists’ copyrights consists of three areas: rights management, advocacy and copyright communication.
Kuvasto licenses the use of works and manages the copyright-based exhibition royalties on behalf of the artists it represents. By decision of the Ministry of Education and Culture, Kuvasto also administers the resale royalties for visual arts. Kuvasto also provides general copyright advice and influences the development of copyright legislation at both national and international level.
