The Finnish Artists’ Association is an influential and expert organisation in the visual arts, representing more than 3 000 professional artists. The Finnish Artists’ Association’s mission is to monitor and promote the status of visual arts, the conditions for artists to work and to strengthen the importance of art in society. The Society carries out its task through active cultural policy lobbying and advocacy, and by providing services, support and information for the visual artist’s profession.

The Finnish Artists’ Association provides up-to-date information on the sector to decision-makers, the media and the art public. The society develops practices and structures in the visual arts field in close cooperation with other actors in the field. The Society is represented in the decision-making bodies of more than 20 foundations, associations and institutions. It has six national artists’ associations as member organisations.
