Founded in 1938, the Union of Finnish Artists’ Associations is the umbrella organisation, lobbyist, developer, educator and advisor of regional artists’ associations. It is made up of 58 artists’ associations in different parts of the country. It builds cooperation and networks between actors, and provides advisory services, training and tools to support the work of the communities.
The Union of Finnish Art Associations runs a window gallery in Helsinki, Galleria SEINÄ, which exhibits the works of artists from the Association’s member communities every day of the year. The Federation’s artist residency, Aspan Ateljee in Karjalohja, offers artists a place to spend their free time and recover from work.
