About the Exhibition
The exhibition explores cracks and fading surfaces, belonging and bindings, relations in the change that surrounds us.
In creating these works, Määttänen reflects on letting go and release, repair, and the act of leaning on fragility. In other words, the pieces examine relationships and the changes we experience in life.
Vilma Määttänen’s works are created using tempera and fresco techniques. She crafts most of the pigments herself, using mineral stones and plant-based pigments, such as indigo.
